Excerpts from a Breathwork and Movement Session at the Crescent Primary School. Children learn how to slow down their breathing and move with the breath to balance their nervous system and feel calm. They tune into their physicality using the breath as a guide and move in a way that feels good to each individual. They move in a non-competitive, non-performance way that develops their strength, balance, flexibility and coordination. At the end of the practice they learn how to properly rest so they can recharge and feel great for the rest of the day. At the end the session is completed with a kindness practice to themselves and others, creating community cohesion, compassion and gratitude.

Breathwork And Movement Testimonials
Lee Pender – Director of Education & Deputy CEO, OLEVI and OPAL: “Lesley’s series of breathwork sessions created the headspace for our OPAL founding fellows to focus on their physical and mental wellbeing, whilst experiencing breathwork exercises. Lesley’s calm approach was contagious! We received positive feedback from fellows, a group of high performing educationalists, many of whom had never experienced breathwork practice before. Working with Lesley encouraged fellows to reflect on their daily practice, considering what they could imbed in order to support their own wellbeing and performance.”
Jack Legget, NQT: “The Breathwork has been brilliant for my class. I have a class with behaviour issues and it helps them calm before the next lesson. As a teacher, taking part has also eased anxieties and eased my mind for the rest of the day. It clears my thoughts and I can think of my next steps for the day.”
Deborah Polak, Family Worker and School Counsellor: “We have seen some transformations in both individual children and classes as a whole. Children, who were initially fidgety with some distracting others and generally finding focus a challenge, have now evolved in their ability to engage with the practices.”
